About the SSES

Founded in 1864, the Swiss Society of Economics and Statistics (SSES) is the association of Swiss adademic economists. It aims to promote and advance economic research in Switzerland and to improve collaborations among members of the domestic and international research communities. A special focus lies on the promotion of young economists. The SSES publishes a peer-reviewed academic journal, the Swiss Journal of Economics and Statistics.

At its General Assembly on 24 June 2010, the SSES voted to award honorary membership of the Society to Professor Ernst Baltensperger, in recognition of his great achievements in connection with the SSES.
